Well done to all DWAA junior team members who took part in the GWAS Junior Inter counties Championships on Saturday 9th September. 2023.
This was the first time DWAA county juniors had a team shooting since 2019.
Covid 2020 and 2021 DWAA not active.
DWAA were unable to prepare a junior team in time for 2022 championships.
Although, we did not have much time this year, to put a full team out to challenge for the GWAS team champions trophy. There were a number of individual successes with a number of DWAA county records being broken along with GWAS regional records broken!
This was fantastic shooting in extremely testing conditions, being the hottest day of the year and shooting all day! All of the GWAS juniors there and the parents needed a medal for enduring the day. DWAA County Juniors certainly let the other counties know, that they were not just there to take part with just over half a team.
DWAA juniors took:
4 gold, 1st places in the bow styles/age groups.
22 DWAA county records, full and split distances broken.
7 GWAS regional records, full and split distances broken.
PBs for girls of GMB as well.
Fantastic shooting and great achievements from all the DWAA junior team members!
Individual successes
Isabel Reese: South Wilts AC | U14. Barebow 1st Gold medal and 5 DWAA CR.
Annabel Howlett: Kingston Archers | U16. Barebow 1st Gold medal and 4 DWAA CR.
Daisy Parry: South Wilts AC | U16. Longbow 1st Gold medal and 7 DWAA CR and 5 GWAS R.R.
Willow Moore: Kingston Archers | U14 Recurve 1st Gold medal and 6 DWAA CR and 2 GWAS R.R.
Also, Willow Moore: GWAS Girl Champion Trophy.
Daisy and Willow posted GMB scores as well.
A massive thank you to all the parents for their support in supporting their junior, to achieve these great achievements, without you this is not possible!
